Welcome to Day 3 of my Price Upon Request seven-day spring shoe edit. (If you’re just tuning in, this is my weeklong mini-series where I’m sharing my selects from one shoe category each day.)
Today’s spotlight: The thong sandal.
Now, I know “thong sandal” sounds grown and sexy, but quick crowd check: did anyone else grow up calling them foot flops? I know that usually implied something flat, rubbery, and en route to a pool, not a heel or an elevated vibe—but I can’t un-know it.
It’s probably just neural wiring, but when I see a thong sandal, I still kinda see a foot flop... with a heel. No shade, just truth.
Much like the jelly (but less dramatic), the thong sandal is peak nostalgia and chicness because it can take you from impromptu rooftop drinks to bridesmaid duty to airport chic all in one day. That’s the kind of effortless style range I aspire to.
From flats to kitten heels to stilts, it’s the details around the thong that get me. Because there’s not much shoe, right? So what is there has to carry the moment. And trust—these picks below definitely do.

It’s no surprise that Simon Miller’s 3.5 inch beep thong wedge is a best-seller. I’m thinking these styled with boot cut jeans and a semi-cropped blouse is in order.
I don’t usually go for kitten heels, but the Toni Bianco tropic sandal in vanilla Nappa changed my mind.
Not all heroes wear capes but they should definitely wear these Ferragamo structural mules.

Capezio—the dancewear brand that instantly says mom signed me up for jazz and tap—has been sold after 137 years of family ownership. Private equity firm Argand Partners plans to expand it through licensing and new product lines.
Founded in 1887 near NYC’s Metropolitan Opera House, Capezio went from ballet staples to department store fashion and later became a celeb favorite (hi, Beyoncé, Gaga, and Taylor Swift). A legacy pivot in motion.
