Price Upon Request: Cardigans, From Sunday School to Style MVP
Endless shopping and styling possibilities ahead.

Hi friends,
This week, I’m cold and tired—but layering season is keeping me inspired.
Let’s talk cardigans.
With NYC finally getting some season-appropriate weather and others heading to the slopes, these versatile wardrobe heroes are ready for anything. Growing up, cardigans always reminded me of Sunday school teachers or the go-to look for every Ann Taylor devotee.

Back then, they were a staple of practicality—but they’ve had a glow-up. They quietly transformed from practical staples to stylish statements, bringing dimension, design, and charisma to the forefront.
Cardigans are no longer just your mom’s (and no shade becauase my mom could accessorize the life out of one).
My personal fave? A red Maje cardigan with a bold “M” on it. Sure, it’s the brand logo, but it also nods to my nickname, “Mone”—the perfect excuse to snag it on sale in LA.
Today’s cardigans are as versatile as ever. During the pandemic, I practically lived in them, like my Target x Lego collab cardigan (above) from my WFH-lockdown days, but now that we’re back outside, my appreciation has only grown.

I style them with these categories in mind:
Sexy? Throw it over a sheer top, wear it open with a bandeau, or with leather and knee-high boots.
Sophisticated? Layer it under a blazer or over a thin hoodie for a little edge.
Relaxed cool? Knee-length shorts and a chunky knit cardigan are where it’s at.
Designers have caught up with the cardigan’s utility, transforming it from matronly to masterpieces with character, color, and creativity.
Here’s what I’m feeling right now:
Oversized fits with exaggerated sleeves
Cropped cardigans with bold patterns or interesting textures
Cashmere blends that are worth the investment
Paired with leather pants, midi skirts, or over slip dresses
Check out my wishlist.
Dreamy

Junya Watanabe Studded Buckle Wool Cropped Cardigan: Takes cozy to a whole new level!
This Weekend Max Mara color-block cardigan is a game-changer—hip-length means it could double as a mini dress.

The Adam Lippes Glynis Cardigan: Soft silk and sleek lines that flatter without needing a defined waist. Perfect for the office and effortlessly polished for happy hour or events. Pair with high-waisted trousers or a slip skirt for easy elegance.
Treat yo self

Generation Love Brandi Lace Top: Say less.
Levi’s Lama Cardigan: As soft to the touch as its buttery yellow hue looks.
Zara High Collar Knit Cardigan: So much going on here—boxy jacket meets bomber vibes, textured details, a hint of a defined waist, and rich embroidery tying it all together. It’s artful yet practical, and I wish I’d included it in last week’s newsletter on art-inspired fashion. A true statement piece that just works.
Nike Sportswear Tech Pack Knitwear: Throw it on over a jumpsuit, track pants, a catsuit, or overalls with a pair of New Balance —it’s a clear invitation to have fun with your look and keep it moving.

An oldie but goodie styling vid from Dylanlex.
Turns out the Polo Bear is a lowkey personal stylist. Look closely for inspo.
This 90s shoot for i-D mag was a game-changer: “Boriqua Girls of the Bronx” by @jamilgshere was an earnest exchange of the already culturaly rich and stylish streetwear and high fashion, celebrating diversity and rejecting the era’s heroin chic—an overdue and iconic moment in fashion history.
Collabs I’m feeling
Yeezy Taught Me: The comments were aflutter for this one ya’ll. I think I’m the only one who likes this collab.

Tibi’s take on the L.L.Bean Boat and Tote is a stylish upgrade. It works as a classic tote or, thanks to a handle sewn to the bottom, tucks under the arm as an XXL clutch.
Stay cozy, friends!
Obsessed with that Another Tomorrow cardigan (but not the price)
